Jamaica Plain (no S) is very similar to Williamsburg and/or Greenpoint in Brooklyn. Although Brooklyn is definitely more urban and dense, the culture and social environment is similar. They both represent many different racial groups and ethnicities as well as lifestyles (gay & lesbian). The arts communities are very vibrant and some days you can hardly get through the crowds on the sidewalks for all the hipsters and strollers milling about. You'll find no shortage of little shops, restaurants and bars to pop into.
» Read Full ReviewLike Williamsburg, Silver Lake is a mix of ethnic backgrounds, but probably best known for the large collection of hipsters. Both are very bohemian and somewhat of a melting pot of rich and poor.
